SUFFOLK — Charles Franklin Jordan, 84, died July 22, 2014, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was the son of the late Marie S. and Charles D. Jordan. He was predeceased by his wives, Anne J. Jordan and Barbara Whitehurst.

Frank had a great love for life and was a devoted family man. He was a lifelong farmer, loved to travel and loved all kinds of sports. He was a dedicated Virginia Tech alumnus and a member of the Old Guard. Frank was active in many civic and agricultural organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Jordan, daughter, Suzanne J. Langston and husband, J. Darden Langston Jr., of Suffolk; son, C.F. Jordan and wife, Linnie, of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Laura J. Griffies and husband, Cole, Nancy Cate Jordan, Lee Tyler Langston and wife, Jenni, Breanne Joyner Langston and Jenna Elizabeth Langston; brother, Richie Jordan; five great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Oakland Christian UCC Church, 5641 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, by the Rev. Gregory Ryan with a private burial at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 27, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434 and other times at the home of C.F. Jordan.
