Roberta Pittman, 62, of 2518 Deep Creek Blvd., Portsmouth, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Earl L. Pittman Sr. and Alberta T. Pittman. She was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Pittman; a brother, Earl L. Pittman Jr.

She attended John F. Kennedy High School and Tidewater Community College. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Lakea Pittman and Kelly Pittman, of Portsmouth; two sisters, Willie Mae Pittman-Scott (Hosea), of Chesapeake, and Otella Mozell (Wesley), of Sunbury, N.C.; one brother, Marvin Thomas (Ann), of Portsmouth; sister-in-law, Llucita Pittman; devoted friend, Sam Davidson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 8300 Crittenden Road, Suffolk. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will assemble at 6845 Crittenden Road at 10 a.m. for the processional to the church on Wednesday. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
