Three candidates have filed to run for an open School Board seat created by the move of Diane Foster outside the Sleepy Hole Borough.

The three are Charles D. Leavell, a pastor; David Mitnick, a retired school counselor and president of the Suffolk Education Foundation’s board of directors; and James Perkinson, an educator and former member of the School Board who currently holds the seat on an interim basis.

The special election will be held Nov. 4, on the same day as the general election for a number of congressional and local races.
