A Suffolk man drowned Sunday night at a party in the 500 block of Kings Fork Road.

Calvin S. Hogan, 44, was unresponsive when he was discovered at about 9:14 p.m. in a backyard pool during a party at the home, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.

Suffolk rescue units assessed and treated him at the scene and then transported him by ambulance to Sentara Obici Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the incident is under way by the Suffolk Police Department, but the death is not considered suspicious, according to Klink.
