Suffolk’s Clyde Turner has won the $200,000 jackpot in the Virginia Lottery’s scratch-off game “Hit the Jackpot.”

He bought the winning ticket at Holiday Food Store, 715 N. Main St., in Suffolk.

Turner actually had two winning tickets, according to a press release from the Virginia Lottery. The first one was a $25 winner, and he used those winnings to buy a second ticket, which turned out to be the big winner.

“At first I thought I’d won $200,” he said as he claimed his prize. “Everything hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Turner said he expects to use his winnings to pay some bills and help his grandson pay for college.

Hit the Jackpot features prizes ranging from $5 to $200,000. Turner is the fourth player to claim the top prize in the game, meaning there are three unclaimed $200,000 prizes remaining.
