Two Suffolk sophomores are among 38 inducted into the prestigious honors college program at Chowan University during a special ceremony Sept. 21.

Calvin Bowe, a criminal justice law enforcement student, and Dalton Henson, a graphic design student, were among the inductees.

The Honors College at Chowan University is designed to offer challenging opportunities for intellectual growth to well-prepared and highly motivated students. The Honors College Committee considers for acceptance any freshman who enters college with an 1100 or higher SAT score and a 3.25 high school GPA. Transfer students and Chowan rising sophomores must have earned at least a 3.50 GPA.

Honors classes provide opportunities for intensive class discussion and innovative teaching. Students who successfully complete the Honors College graduate with a special designation on their diplomas and transcripts.
