The Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday made an arrest in connection with recent burglaries in the Burwell’s Bay and Longview areas.

Dawud Yusuf Ward, 21, of Isle of Wight County, was charged with one count of receiving stolen goods, four counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and five counts of grand larceny, according to a news release.

The charges stem from four burglaries that led to a search warrant being served on a residence in the 5400 block of Old Stage Highway, according to the release. Additional charges are possible.

He is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond.
