A North Carolina man has been charged in the Monday evening accident where a tractor-trailer ran off U.S. Route 460 and into a farmhouse.

Kevin Maur Bowden, 47, of Wilson, was issued a summons for reckless driving, according to a city press release.

The tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway in the 5300 block and drove the attached breezeway of the home, according to the release. It happened at 6:53 p.m.

The 83-year-old owner of the house was home at the time but was not injured. He stayed with family overnight, and city building officials inspected the home Tuesday and said it was structurally secure.
