The Lakeland High School boys’ basketball team experienced its first loss of the 2014-15 season as it was routed 74-46 by host Oscar Smith High School on Tuesday.

Cavaliers junior Deonta Knight led his team with 22 points and nine rebounds, junior Daquan Boyette added 11 points, senior Irvin Ashburn had five boards and three blocks and senior Kenya Latham had five assists.

Lakeland (2-1) hosts Western Branch High School on Thursday and Nansemond River High School (3-0) on Friday.
