City should remove rec fees

To the editor:

We Suffolk residents and taxpayers should not be charged to get into and use our recreation centers. We bought and paid for these buildings, furnishings and the salaries of the employees who operate them.

The City Council should remove these unjust fees from Suffolk citizens, and while they are at it, they should also remove the fee on the dog park play area.

The taxpaying citizens paid more than $250,000 for the dog park project.

Chesapeake does not charge for the use of its dog play area.
