NR girls win track title

The Nansemond River High School Lady Warriors edged out Phoebus High School to win the Region 4A South indoor track and field championship on Monday in Hampton.

Leading the way for Nansemond River was junior Brandeé Johnson, who won regional titles in the girls’ 500-meter dash, the long jump and the triple jump. Lady Warriors senior Zakiya Rashid won the shot put.
