Suffolk police arrested a woman over the weekend after they say she left her 8-year-old child alone.

Police responded on Saturday to the 100 block of Windsor Court regarding a report of a juvenile who had allegedly been left alone, according to a city press release. Child Protective Services was notified, and the boy was released to their care.

Kionna Moret, 27, has been arrested on charges of child endangerment and child neglect, according to the press release. She was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, where she posted bond.

The incident remains under investigation, according to the release.
