Robert Lee Turner

Robert Lee Turner, 72, of Prince George (Petersburg), passed away July 2, 2015, after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Suffolk to the late William Robert Turner and Alice Boyce Turner. Robert was predeceased by his aunt, Ila Jernigan, and his uncle, Otis Boyce. He is an Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. Robert is a retired educator with the Petersburg School System, where he was a dedicated employee, only missing 10 days during 40 years of employment.

Robert is survived by his sister, Shirley Turner Humphrey; nieces, Joyce Byrd and husband, Harold, Carolyn Sue Humphrey, Alice Payne and husband, Lee; nephews, Eddie Humphrey and wife, Lucille, William Humphrey; aunt, Edith B. Wilkins; great-nieces, Jennifer Lowe, Jamie Leigh Hogge; great-nephews, Eddie Humphrey Jr., Walter Payne Jr., Henry Byrd; and several great-great-nieces and -nephews.

A funeral will be held Monday, July 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434.
