UPDATE 4 p.m.: Bonita Harris, Dominion spokeswoman, says power was restored at 1:35 p.m. However, an online outage map still shows about 130 people in Suffolk without power.

Earlier: Hundreds of people in Suffolk are currently without power due to a failed piece of equipment, according to Dominion Virginia Power spokeswoman Bonita Harris.

About 680 were without power at 12:30 p.m. That was down from 866 originally and 3,500 including people whose power merely blinked and came back on immediately, Harris said.

The failed piece of equipment is located near Godwin Boulevard in the Hillpoint area, Harris said.

“They’re working to make repairs,” she said. “They have the estimated time of restoration as 3 p.m. We are hoping it will be before then.
