A Suffolk man has been arrested following a shooting early Monday morning.

Anthony Winfield, 20, is charged with reckless handling of a firearm in shooting in the street, according to a city news release.

Two people were hurt in the incident, which took place in the 6100 block of Brookwood Drive in the College Square neighborhood. One victim has been released, and the second remains hospitalized.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the city press release. Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
