The King’s Fork High School field hockey team held host Indian River High School scoreless for about 69 minutes on Wednesday, but the Lady Braves eventually scored to emerge with a 1-0 overtime victory.

“I did see a little more improvement in the spacing of the field, but I definitely saw some things we need to work on,” Lady Bulldogs coach Darcy Pinchbeck said.

She also said King’s Fork improved defensively, but she is still figuring out where players are going to fit best on the field.

Pinchbeck said junior Lauren Park, one of her team captains, had a more consistent game this time out.

“She definitely took control as a leader,” the coach said.

The Lady Bulldogs (0-2) visit Great Bridge High School on Monday.
