“They scored all four goals in the first half, so we held them in the second half,” Parker said. “It was a good game.”

She switched her goalies during the game, and junior Deleah Scott produced six saves in the second half.

Parker said she felt good about her team’s performance against Oscar Smith. They took a 3-0 lead by halftime.

Junior Kendall Lewis scored the first goal of the game, assisted by junior Lexis Munford. Munford scored the second goal off a pass from senior Shannon Leonard. Then, with three seconds left in the half, senior Taylor Roten put the ball in the net, assisted by freshman Sara Stansick.

Senior Stasha Waterfield produced the fourth goal with 11 minutes left in the game, and Lewis provided the assist.

Deep Creek High School visits Lakeland (2-1) on Monday.
