For their efforts, the two girls made their first all-tournament team.

“In our first match, Livi had 12 attempts and 11 kills,” Ross said, leading to a 91.7 kill percentage. “I don’t think I’ve ever had somebody — no matter who we played — finish with those kind of numbers,” especially with that number of attempts.

It led Nansemond-Suffolk to a 25-4, 25-11 victory.

In the next match against Timberlake Christian School, Knierbein had a career-high 18 kills to go with 21 digs, contributing to a 24-26, 25-23, 25-18 Lady Saints victory.

NSA ended up placing second in the tourney, falling to Westover Christian Academy 15-25, 23-25 in the final.

Lady Saints junior libero Logan Harrell had a solid tournament, finishing with 45 digs and nine aces.

Nansemond-Suffolk (10-5) will host Williamsburg Christian Academy on Thursday evening.
