The city has announced its new finance director, Tealen Hansen.

Hansen has been the acting finance director since July 2015 and the interim financial services comptroller since July 2014.

“Tealen brings with her a wealth of experience in municipal finance and is an outstanding addition to the city’s management team,” City Manager Patrick Roberts stated in a press release.

She was hired as the financial reporting and compliance manager in 2012. She has more than 15 years’ experience in governmental and non-profit accounting and finance. She previously worked for the city of Norfolk in its finance department.

Hansen graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Montana State University. She is a registered Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government Finance Officer. She is married and has three children.
