The score was 29-0 by halftime, and Warriors fans were treated to a string of outstanding offensive performances that started on the sideline with the team’s offensive coordinator.

“Brian Maus had a great game plan and executed it efficiently,” Coccoli said.

Leading the way on the field for NR was senior quarterback Kiere Landry, who went 15-for-23 passing for 278 yards and four touchdowns.

“He really stepped up tonight,” Coccoli said. “I couldn’t be more proud of his performance at the quarterback position.”

Warriors senior wide receiver Josh Covington recorded four catches for 123 yards and a touchdown, senior wide receiver Chris Henderson had five catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns and senior wideout Marquis Braimer had an 18-yard touchdown catch.

Nansemond River had the ground game working, as well, with senior running back Terrence Lambert carrying the ball 14 times for 150 yards and a score.

Coccoli also liked what he saw from his team defensively, highlighting senior lineman Demetrius Stitmon for having two sacks and three tackles for loss.

Nansemond River (4-3) will now enjoy returning to a normal schedule, one unaffected by the recent inclement weather. The Warriors visit King’s Fork High School (5-2) next Friday night.
