Saints go 1-1 to start 2016

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team fell 71-52 to host Portsmouth Christian School on Thursday, but the Saints began the 2016 portion of their schedule with a 63-50 Tuesday home win against the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology.

Senior guard Logan Lokie scored 18 points against Appomattox, helping the Saints extend their win-streak at the time to five games. He was one of four NSA players to score in double figures on the night, a list which included freshman guard/forward Matthew Patterson with 11 points, senior forward David Richter with 10 and sophomore point guard Erek Smith with 10 more.

Nansemond-Suffolk visited Hampton Roads Academy on Friday evening and hosts StoneBridge School on Monday.
