A Suffolk man has been charged with robbery following a Jan. 17 robbery at a pharmacy.

Lawrence Reginald Claar, 47, of the 100 block of North Street, was arrested Monday on charges of armed robbery and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The arrest follows an investigation into an armed robbery that took place at 10:35 p.m. that Sunday night at the Rite Aid in the 500 block of North Main Street. Police said a man entered the store, implied he had a weapon and demanded prescription medication from the pharmacy technician.

Claar is being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
