All Suffolk city offices will close at noon Friday due to the oncoming winter weather. The following departments will observe the following schedules:

• Suffolk Parks and Recreation has canceled all after-school programs and evening athletic events.
• The Whaleyville Community Center, East Suffolk Recreation Center, Suffolk Art Gallery and all joint use facilities will close at noon.
• Trash collection will continue and is expected to be completed by 2 p.m.
• Suffolk Transit will continue to operate. The phone number is 214-6442. Riders may call 354-5252 with emergencies.

School early dismissals are as follows:

• Suffolk Public Schools middle schools will dismiss at 11:25 a.m., high schools at 12:15 p.m., Elementary A (Driver, Florence Bowser, Hillpoint, Kilby Shores, Mack Benn Jr.) at 1:05 p.m. and Elementary B (Booker T. Washington, Creekside, Elephant’s Fork, Nansemond Parkway, Oakland and Pioneer) at 1:20 p.m.
• Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will dismiss all students at noon. The bus to Edenton and Corapeake will not run. Attendance is optional for all North Carolina students.
• All after-school games, practices and activities are canceled for public schools and NSA.
