If you celebrated Valentine’s Day with a diamond engagement ring or have a wedding looming on the horizon, mark your calendars for Feb 21.

The Driver Merchant Association is debuting its progressive bridal showcase, an event where visitors can float through four participating downtown Driver shops to find everything they need for weddings: bridal gowns, tuxedos, gifts, entertainment and the like, said Lana Sadowski, president of the organization.

Two dozen vendors will be spread among the participating merchants — including the Little Black Dress, Arthur’s General Store, Harmony House Antiques and the Knot Hole Station — to share their wares and services from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 21, Sadowski said. She owns the Little Black Dress, a store that carries consigned and new bridal and prom gowns and rents tuxedos.

Greg Parker, the owner of Arthur’s, will perform live music through the afternoon, and other merchants will provide snacks.

Vendors will include a bakery, catering businesses, a wedding photographer and others, Sadowski said. At least 25 door prizes that were donated by vendors will be given away, she said.

A couple of churches in the Driver community will also have special events for the afternoon, Sadowski added.

“We’re going to have everything a bride needs to plan a perfect wedding,” Sadowski said. “Even if you not getting married, there’s still something here for you.

“It’s just a nice time to come and enjoy Driver.”

Sadowski is hopeful the event will draw 2,000 to 3,000 people.
