Scholarship recipients honored at reception

Paul D. Camp Community College has awarded seven students with scholarships that will aid in paying for tuition and books for the Spring 2017 semester. The following applicants were honored with awards:

  • Mary Burgess of Franklin — Franklin Woman’s Club Scholarship
  • Olivia Davis of Courtland — Jim Lassiter PDCCC Scholarship
  • Taylor Felts of Franklin — Col. Lula B. Holland, U.S. Army (Ret.), MSE, BSN, AA Scholarship;
  • Connie Patterson Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund
  • Taylor Henry of Windsor — Ryan L. Kirkland Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Students
  • Bakari Jenkins of Suffolk — Perry R. Adams Scholarship
  • Karla Johnson of Franklin — Karen Phillips Chase Memorial Nursing Scholarship; Bertella C. Westbrook Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Students
  • Samantha Luke of Suffolk — King’s Fork Womans’ Club of Suffolk Scholarship

In addition to the spring awards, 29 high school students who are enrolled in Dual Enrollment classes received Dual Enrollment Camp Opportunity Scholarships for Summer 2016 and/or Fall 2016 semesters. The recipients are as follows:

We are fortunate to have present and former members of the community recognize the significant role that Paul D. Camp Community College plays in the lives of our students.”

A reception was held recently to provide the opportunity for interaction among the scholarship recipients, donors and donor namesakes, and to award certificates to the students.
