Alma King Carter, age 91, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Suffolk, passed away Feb. 6, 2017.

She is the daughter of the late Waverly and Bessie King. She is survived by her two children, William Gary Turner and wife, Judy, and Shirley Turner Cooper; four grandchildren, Laura Griffin, David Babb (Cyndi), Brian Babb (Dee) and Joe Turner (Isabelle); two great-grandchildren, Noell Babb and Tammi Richeson (Asher); and two great-great-grandchildren, Amarah and Harper Richeson.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church in Freeman. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reedy Creek Baptist Church General Fund, P.O. Box 17, Freeman, VA 23856. Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, will be handling the arrangements.
