Wedding: Luster and Boone
Kim D. Luster and Darnell L. Boone were united in a double-ring ceremony at East Suffolk Community Center on Saturday, July 18 at 2 p.m.
The Elder Melvin A. Boone officiated the ceremony. The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father, Pernell Luster.
The bride wore a gown with a halter V-neck and diamond accents. The dress had a chapel-length train, and the bride’s headpiece was a diamond-studded tiara.
The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
The maid of honor was Gail Carney, of Norfolk, Va. The bridesmaids were Tranika White, of Suffolk, Va., and DeKina Hamlin, of Chesterfield, Va., cousin of the bride.
The flower girl was Zahniyia Watson, of Chesapeake, Va.
The best man was Donald Gibson, of Suffolk, Va., stepfather of the groom. Groomsmen were Lawrence Howell and Tirelle Knight, of Suffolk, Va., cousin of the groom. Ushers were Ryan Young, of New Bern, N.C., brother of the bride, and Glenn Finney, of Suffolk, brother-in-law of the bride. Ringbearer was Kevon Boone, son of the bride and groom. Bible carrier was Justin Finney, nephew of the bride.
Family and friends served as hostesses. Bertha Riddick, of Gates, N.C., was director.
Following the wedding, a reception took place at the center.
On July 11, the bride was feted with a bridal shower given by maid of honor, Gail Carney. On July 17, the bride and groom honored the wedding party with a dinner following the wedding rehearsal.
After the wedding, the couple will reside in Suffolk.
