This week is a football extravaganza for Troy, with two high school teams celebrating homecoming and Troy State University playing its opening home game.
Students throughout the city are celebrating the events through various programs and activities at their schools - and some of it involves pretty bizarre clothing.
At Pike Liberal Arts School, the week started with "Pajama Day" and was followed by "Camouflage Day" on Tuesday. Today, students at PLAS are celebrating "Tropical Day." Tomorrow, students will show their spirit on "Spirit Day" and on the day of the big game, students will be decked out for "Dress Up Day."
A bonfire will be held Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. before the teams take to the field on Friday evening.
PLAS will announce homecoming court at 9:30 a.m. Friday and will have an 11:30 a.m. pep rally.
The team takes the field at 7:30 and half-time will see the presentation of the homecoming queen and court.
At Charles Henderson High School, the week started with "Black Out Day," which was followed by "Camouflage Day " on Tuesday.
Clothes for today are an eclectic assortment of designs for "Decade of the Century" when classes are given an era of the 20th Century and are expected to dress accordingly. Hippies, flappers and others will turn out for the event.
Thursday is "Orange and Blue Day" and students are expected to don school colors.
Friday, the day of the big game, gets serious with "Dress Up Day."
There will be a bonfire Thursday night at 6:30 on the area by the tennis courts at the High School.
Friday will be marked by numerous events including a 3 p.m. parade. Pre-game festivities at CHHS begin at 7 p.m.
