Floyd Harrison

Floyd Harrison, 97, of 9353 Dinky Circle, Windsor, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at his residence.

A native of Martin County, N.C., he was the widow of Ada Courtney Harrison, and son of the late Slade B. Harrison and Doshia Mizell Harrison.

He had retired as a crane operator from Tidewater Construction. Among the many bridges he helped build were the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, James River Bridge and the Hampton Bridge Tunnel.

He was a member of the Local 147 International Union of Operation Engineers. He was also a lifelong member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge No. 141.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and special friends.

The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Byron McCreary.

Friends may join the family at the home of his great-niece, Peggy McCausley, 121 Deborah Dr., Suffolk.

Memorials may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.

Harrell and Hill Funeral Home is serving the family.
