Lakeland to hold Fall Sports Banquet Dec. 3

Lakeland High School will hold its Fall Sports Banquet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 Coaches and athletes from the past season (including the 2002 Southeastern district champion field hockey team) will gather in the school auditorium to look back at their past accomplishments and forward to the future.

Holiday basketball tourney starts Dec. 27

The Parks and Rec. Department is sponsoring a Men's Holiday Basketball Tourna-ment on Dec. 27-29 at Birdsong Recreation Center. The fee is $200 per team, and eight teams can register for the double-elimination tournament.

Teams can be between five and 10 players, and the registration deadline is Dec. 20. Participants must be at least 18 years of
