Saints head to Lynchburg today

Published Wednesday, September 25, 2002

NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY

Opponent: Blue Ridge Academy

Place/Time: Lynchburg, 4 p.m.

Last season: The teams did not play.

Outlook: The Saints will have to play without starting quarterback John Tuttle, who will sit this one out after being ejected from last weekend's game against Catholic. But they came back to score two touchdowns without him (and Hod Verbal, who returns today) in a 14-13 comeback win over the Crusaders, so the Saints should be all right as they try to move to 5-0.

Offensive thoughts: "John plays a lot of key positions, so he's a big loss. We're going to have to struggle, but I think we can pull it off. I'm going to try to hold onto the ball and score some touchdowns." - Ryan Johnson, tailback

Defensive line: "We have to play hard, not matter who we're playing against. But our offense is starting to get comfortable with the plays, and they're running the ball better." Jason Rock - defensive end
