College VP selected for SACUBO presidential track

L.T. (Pete) Parker, vice president of financial and administrative services at Paul D. Camp Community College, was elected third vice president for SACUBO (Southern Association of College and University Business Officers) at its April 15 meeting in Charlotte, N.C.

In SACUBO, a vice president is assigned specific responsibilities for a three-year period before becoming President. If successful, Parker will become the 79th President of SACUBO in 2006 at the Asheville, N.C. Annual Conference and will complete his term at the Oklahoma City SACUBO Annual Conference. An affiliate of NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers), SACUBO is committed to promoting professional success of college and university business officers and their institutions by sponsoring annual meetings, workshops, and professional development programs.

Prior to this election, Parker served on SACUBO's Community College Constituency Committee, with two terms as chair, and was host committee chair for the 1995 Annual Conference held in Norfolk. He also served a three-year term as director on the SACUBO Board of Directors and just completed a two-year term as its secretary. His service to NACUBO includes serving on the Community College Council, with three years as chair, and three years on its Member-Member Relations Council.

A key administrator for Paul D. Camp Community College since its opening in l971, Parker holds a bachelor's degree from Lynchburg College and a master's degree from old Dominion University. He is also an active member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club.
