Decisive win moves Clippers to 3-0

Arthur Wellons scored 28 points and Jeff Cook added 16 as the Lake Kennedy Clippers handled Chesapeake 64-47 at the Joseph L. Parker Center in Portsmouth Saturday. The win moved the Clippers' season record to 3-0.
Lack of scoring prowess dooms Warriors to loss
Marquie Cooke, with 17 points, was the only member of the Nansemond River basketball team to score in double digits as the Warriors fell 59-43 to Dudley (N.C.) in the opening round of the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Friday. NRHS failed to scored for the first 10 minutes of the game. The result for the Warriors' Saturday contest was not reported.
