Rachel Weller to James Deaton

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Weller of Brentwood, Tenn. announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Erin, to James Hollis Deaton Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hollis Deaton of Suffolk.

Miss Weller is the maternal granddaughter of Mrs. Paul Markey Riherd of Gainesville, Fla., and the late Mr. Riherd.

She is the paternal granddaughter of Mrs. Robert Allen Weller of Gallatin, Tenn., and the late Mr. Weller.

Mr. Deaton is the maternal grandson of Mrs. George Fenton Turner of Suffolk, and the late Mr. Turner.

He is the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Arnold Deaton, who lived in Suffolk.

The bride-elect graduated from Centennial High School, Franklin, Tenn., and attended Bluefield College in Bluefield.

Mr. Deaton graduated with honors from Nansemond River High School, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in history at Bluefield College.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 2 in Brentwood.
