Thelma L. Knight

Mrs. Thelma Lee Knight, 77, of 619 Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, in Obici Hospital. She was a native of Gates, N.C.

She was a daughter of the late Katie Ralph Jenkins and Walter Jenkins, and the widower of Johnnie Knight Sr.

She was a member of New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church in Corapeake, N.C.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Copeland of Suffolk, and Margie Bonner (Vincent) of Portsmouth; two sons, Herman Jenkins of Chesapeake, and Johnnie Knight Jr. of Suffolk; two sisters, Gladys Rodgers of Suffolk, and Annie Pruden of Richmond; a sister-in-law, Willie Mae Jenkins of Suffolk; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Saturday in New Middle Swamp Baptist Church in Corapeake, N.C. by Dr. Claude M. Odom. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
