Harry Artis

Harry Artis of 221 1/2 Jackson St., died on September 8, 2003 at Obici Hospital.

He was employed at Pond Brothers.

His survivors are his wife, Gladys Artis; one daughter Mable Roberts Thomas of Suffolk; one son Alphonza Artis of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother-in-law, George Young Jr. (Margaret); one sister-in-law, Eula Mae Artis; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Applewhite & Son Funeral Chapel with the Bishop Abraham Applewhite presiding. Burial will take place in Laurel Hill Church Cemetery. Abraham Applewhite & Son Funeral Home is in charge. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will assemble for the service at noon.
