What is this?
A reason to celebrate
Published Sunday, December 26, 2004
Editor, the News-Herald:
I am so thankful this year to be able to celebrate Christmas with my father. On July 1, 2004 I took my father, Franklin Roy Craddock, to the Emergency Room at Obici Hospital because he had exhibited signs of weakness.
On Monday of that same week we had gone to his primary care doctor who had sent him home with no test and no answers.
The emergency room doctor and nurse evaluated him and he was to be admitted.
During the time in the emergency room my father started to worsen and was to be put on a machine to help his breathing.
By the time he reached his room he was in trouble.
Dr. Jeff Forman came into his room to check him out.
He saw immediately that he was in trouble and transferred him to ICU to be put on a ventilator.
He said that if he did not, my father would die that night because he could not get enough oxygen to sustain his life.
After 26 days in the hospital my father came home.
With a lot of therapy and prayer my father has now almost fully recovered.
It is my sincere belief that God put Dr. Forman and his associate, Dr Barakat, and Obici Hospital into my father life at exactly the right time to save his life.
It was because of
their expert care and attention my father was able to survive and I am truly grateful to them.
I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas and my father's 86th birthday in January and I know that I would not have been able to with their dedication.
