Laythell D. Wilson

Laythell D. Wilson, 17, known to all as "Nauda," of the 300 block of York Street, Suffolk, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 19, 1986, in Suffolk, and attended Nansemond River High School.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ruby Ann Wilson; her devoted friend, Scott Boone; father and stepmother, Alton Hamlin Jr. and Shenetta Hamlin; his grandparents, Dorothy Fenner, Henry Wilson, and Agnes Hamlin and Alton Lee Hamlin; sisters and brothers, Shamese Winnegan, Marquetta Wilson, TaSharra Wilson, Scotkeirra Boone, Pierre Wilson, Demonz Wilson, Carlton Wilson, Scotty Boone, Alvin White, and Tierro Williams; his best friends, Lamar Harris, and Marvin Boone; his aunts and uncles, Dorotha Jones, Joyce Chapman, Doris Winnegan, Benita Harris, JoAnn Winnegan, Rosemary Boone, Sabrina Hamlin, Larry Hamlin, and Garry Hamlin; his godmothers, Julia "Ju Ju" Artis and Alice Harris; two nephews, one niece, 10 great-aunts, 10 great-uncles, and many cousins, friends and other relatives.

The funeral will be held at noon Friday in New Mt. Joy Family Worship Center by Elder Darryl Artis, pastor of New Jerusalem Carrsville. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.

The family will be at 326 York St. and 1200 David Lane to receive family and friends.

T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
