Minnie Lee Whitaker, Daughter of the late Minnie Odell Ralph, was born on Oct. 23, 1927 in Suffolk. The Lord called her home on January 23, 2004, at Obici Hospital.

She was predeceased by her spouse the late Clinton Whitaker and her daughter Mary Ann Goodman.

Minnie was a member of New Piney Wood Chapel in Drumhill, N.C. She served as a Deaconess and was active in Sunday School until her health began to fail.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, James Earl Ralph (Virginia); three brothers, Vernon Ralph, Linwood Ralph and John Ralph; two sisters, Sarah Lee Ralph and Rosa Wiggins; one son-in-law, Raymond Goodman; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Jan. 28 in New Piney Wood Chapel with interment in Langston Cemetery in Suffolk. Viewing will take place from noon- 6 p.m.

T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
