George Hayden Brown Sr., 87, widower of Julie B. Brown, died June 25, 2004, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Surry County, he was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church and retired from the Newport News Shipyard. Mr. Brown loved the sport of baseball.
Survivors include four daughters, Lorraine B. Graves, Cassandra B. Avant, Cathryn L. Brown and Cathy B. Lee; two sons, Bernard Brown Sr., James W. Brown; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at noon on Wednesday at Christian Home Baptist Church by Wendell Waller. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be held at the funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday and at the church one hour before the funeral.
The family will assemble at 805 Moore Farm Lane (Chuckatuck) Suffolk.
Mr. Brown service entrusted to Pretlow & Chapman Funeral Home, Smithfield.
