McCord pushes Lakeland to upset win

Ashley McCord scored in the top of the sixth as Lakeland upset host Western Branch 1-0 on Friday. Lindsay Kelly held the Lady Bruins to five hits and fanned four. In baseball, Western Branch won 10-0.
In the Nansemond River Invitational, Lakeland faced Landstown late Saturday and will take on King's Fork on Monday and Green Run on Tuesday. The ladies have off until April 5, when they take on Hickory.
