Nettie L. Johnson

Mrs. Nettie Lee Johnson, 75, of 311 Baker Street, Suffolk, died in Obici Hospital.

She was a native of Kinston, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Eva White Keys and George Keys. She was the widower of Wilbert Johnson.

Her survivors include, three daughters, Catherine Pugh (Earl), Betty Williams, and Emma Askew all of Suffolk; five sons, Wilbert Lee Johnson (Rena), James M. Johnson, William H. Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and George Eure (Nina) all of Suffolk; two sisters, Angelene Wellington of Norfolk, Lucille Best of Ayden, N.C.; one brother, George Keys of Suffolk; 24 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Union Baptist Missionary Church by Bishop Clarence V. Russell. The interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Crocker Funeral Home-Suffolk is in charge of arrangements.
