Seaman Barden graduates from Operations Specialist school

Navy Seaman Amy Y. Barden, daughter of Suzette U. Barden of Franklin

and Terry L. Barden of Suffolk, recently graduated from Operations Specialist School.

During the course at Training Support Center Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach, Barden learned to operate surveillance and search radars, recognize and identify electronic signals, control aircraft approach devices and operate electronic navigation systems. The curriculum is designed to prepare operations specialists for duty in a shipboard combat information center or at a shore-based fleet training center.

Barden is a 2004 graduate of Lakeland High School of Suffolk and joined the Navy in July 2004.
