Joseph A. Wilkins

Joseph A. Wilkins, 45, of 709 Goodlin Drive, died May 23, 2005 in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee Wilkins Sr.

He was a member of Rising St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church. He attended Suffolk Public Schools. He was employed at QVC.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy G. Wilkins of Suffolk; one son, Christopher Demond Wilkins of Suffolk; two sisters, Loretta M. Wilkins and Melody Whitfield (Terence), both of Suffolk; two brothers, Willie Wilkins Jr. and Maryland Leondra Wilkins, both of Suffolk; his grandfather, Maryland Wilkins Sr.; five aunts, Shirley Pugh (Fletcher), Ruth Hill, Rose Carr (Milton), Catherine Wilkins and Joyce Wilkins; five uncles, Leon Green (Yvonne), Edward Green (Eunice), David Green (Patricia), Maryland Wilkins Jr. (Gloria), and Robert Wilkins (Barbara); two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005 in Rising St. James PHC by Bishop Dwight L. Whitfield. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
