Incidents in North Suffolk tying up traffic

Published Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Suffolk Fire and Rescue are currently working two incidents. In the first incident, a high voltage power line is currently down across both the north and south bound lanes of U.S. Route 17 at Governor's Pointe. Traffic is stopped in both directions and fire units are unable to approach the line until Dominion Power arrives on scene.

Additional Suffolk Fire and Rescue units are working a large brush fire on Crittenden Road near U.S. Route 17. The fire is believed to be under control at this time.

The two incidents are within approximately two miles of each other. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
