Bank robbed at gunpoint

Published Thursday, September 25, 2008

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a downtown Suffolk bank this morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., two armed men robbed First Federal Bank, 1703 N. Main St., said city spokeswoman Debbie George. No one was hurt.

The two men, who were armed with handguns, were wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandannas over their faces, George said.

Other details were still sketchy within the hour after it happened.
