I seriously disagree with this view.

President Obama is given publicity/coverage because he is our President. Period. I don't see anything wrong with that.

In my opinion, your argument is based on “fear” instead of fact. You say that he is “used by leftist liberals to turn America into a Socialist Republic?” Where is direct proof or evidence of that?

You write, “He has no experience in anything except politics and racism.”

There is clearly no evidence to support this statement either! He clearly knows and demonstrates a great deal of knowledge on many issues! He also possesses intellectual curiosity, something the previous leader did not demonstrate.

The Republican Party has fallen apart a long time ago by their own actions. They have: promoted an unjustified war, promoted corrosion of civil liberties, put up smokescreens of "divisive" domestic social issues, provided little regulation and oversight contributing to an economic mess, reduced our standing in the world by promoting a (neurotic) preemptive policy based on “fear”, coerced our citizens to live in fear, promoted a disdain for science and intellectual curiosity, etc.

The list goes on and on! Now of course there’s PLENTY of blame to go around, but look at who LED. These things are on the previous administration’s timetable.

Is there any wonder that people are looking for hope after 8 years of living in a nightmare? President Obama is at least open about dialogue, is willing to listen, and is open to having experts around him regardless of their political ideology. He clearly was a strong candidate from the beginning.

And yes, he’s human. Therefore, not everyone will agree with him on everything. However, he should at least be given a chance to correct the endless list of potholes that were formed under the previous administration after all these years. I happen to think that he will do very well!

And I do believe that President Obama is quoted as saying, “WE are the ones we have been waiting for.”

The whole Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac scandal that set off the economic collapse, despite a misdirecting media, is clearly a Democrat debacle. This seems just a little too convenient.

The Justice Department says it foiled a plot by a fired Fannie Mae contract worker in Maryland to destroy all the data on the mortgage giant's 4,000 computer servers nationwide.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 35-year-old Rajendrasinh Makwana, of Glen Allen, Va., is scheduled for arraignment Friday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore on one count of computer intrusion.
U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein says Makwana was fired Oct. 24.

Hmmm.PWR Why would someone wait three months to destroy files for an already discredited financial institution? Mr. Makwana could've gone postal months ago and gotten some instant gratification.

OD, the direct quotes in my response that I referred to are from the featured opinion letter and not your comment. The only reference in my response towards your comment was your following statement:

He clearly has never said such a thing and I just wanted to set the record straight.

On your last post, I have no knowledge of where you found your source of information. It could have come from anywhere. In order to dialogue about the issue, I think that it is good to provide a link so that I can verify the source. I can post any story/quotes from The Nation or The LA Times and you probably won’t believe it because you’d think they are “liberal” sources.

That said, I can’t change your mind/opinion of President Obama. There is a certain portion of the population that absolutely loved the previous administration. I’m certainly am not a part of that crowd. If you felt wonderful under the previous administration, fine. The point is that many Americans did NOT feel good under the previous administration. I would think that many Americans will also have patience with President Obama and his well-chosen administration to change the direction of this country.

It’s pointless to go “tit-for-tat” here. I made my points on my opinion of the featured letter. All I’m saying is have patience and at least give President Obama a chance.

People did not live in a nightmare for 8 years. People re-elected President Bush after 4 years so they must have liked and agreed with him after 4 years to give him another 4 years, granted as the later 4 years progressed, things did go downhill. However, Obama is of mixed race (not only black or only white), is not God, the Second Coming of Christ the Savior, or the Second Coming of MLK. He is just a man who did not put himself in office but was elected to the position. He is no better than any president before him thus President's Day should be holiday enough for him. He did not do anything spectacular. He did not elect himself. Unfortunately, having listened to interviews of the thousands who voted for him, they did not know who his running mate was, what his platform was or what his goals were. When I hear the words, "we finally did it", "we finally made it", "we have seen the dream come true", it only proves Obama was voted into office for no other reason than thousands believe he is "100% black" even though he is not really "100% black". If his skin had been white, he would have been ridiculed for trying to be white. He was voted into office by people who wanted a black man as president and said they wanted change. Well, he has been in office for less than a month and there is no change. If anything, there are so many people from the Clinton era working with and for him, there is no change. He says he wants to spread the wealth. He wants to take money from those who have worked hard all their lives to put some money away to be able to live in comfort in their later years without much input from the government and give it to those who have not done much all their lives. The middle class will be the main "givers" if Obama has his way and no tax break will make it better. His Stimulus Package, in it's present format, will destroy this country. It does not do one thing for our infrastructure! He has done absolutely nothing since he took office to show the residents of the US that he will do anything to protect the US from Terriorism and in fact is catering to the enemies of the world. You don't deal with those people. You take a hard stance against them or they will stab you in the back. It would not be hard to listen to the news these days if Obama were treated just like a man who happens to be the President of the United States and nothing more. The left turned the Katrina aftermath into a three-year shin kick on President Bush. He was heartless because he assumed the Louisiana governor and New Orleans mayor could do their jobs (and didn't) and went to Crawford on a planned few days off.
Imagine if he went to a black tie dinner while black people were dying?

But still, why isn’t the president down there, hugging people? Why was he schmoozing congress with steak dinners* while people were suffering? Why is this going on for almost a week without the president going in there and fixing everything? It’s been way more than 100 hours!

Where is Obama?
Why does the government not show us what is really going on? Where are the pictures of stranded people? We want to see the pictures! People have died! Show us the bodies! First Obama called out Rush and now he bascially calls Jessica Simpson fat? The really sad thing is he thinks he is cool. He rarely considers the weight of his words as POTUS. He has nor respect for, or understanding of the office he holds.

He turns up the heat to suit himself, while telling all others to turn theirs down.
He just doesn't get it. The President of the United States is supposed to lead by example.
His constant claims that the economy is the worst ever are wearing thin. He needs fear, he sows fear gleefully. Fear is what he needs to advance his agenda quickly before it is seen for what it is...before the euphoria of the masses passes and they see him for what he is.
Obama's a little man...a puppet chosen by his handlers to achieve their agenda through him. He did not rise of his own merit to the position he holds although he believes he has.
We know better. He was chosen for what he is and placed where he is by others, older and wiser than he. In short, he believes his own hype.

He's still a child, never having had to deal with the real world that the people in small towns that he disdains and insults, calling them bitter...clinging to religion and guns, deal with every day.His handlers used iconography, concerts, hundreds of millions of dollars and the willing cooperation of a boot licking media to place this egomaniac in office.
The worst part of it all...I don't know what he believes in. I don't know if he wants what is best for America, though I seriously doubt it.

When I think of the fundamentals of America, I think...Capitalism first and foremost. Capitalism is what made this country the most powerful and the richest nation in the world. It's the reason people from all over the world risk death to come here. I think of Freedom of Speech, which he seeks to end. So far the only thing I've seen Obama do is extend the amount of time an employee has to sue an employer for discrimination. Hmm I wonder what form of discrimination was at the forfront of this little deal? I'm willing to bet that this issue was of the highest priority to fixing our broken economy. NOT !!! But who am I to say I'm just a tax payer that will ultimately pay for it.
