Three men thought to be members of a motorcycle gang were arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a mob assault early this month.

Suffolk police, assisted by Chesapeake Police, the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and North Carolina Alcohol Enforcement, executed search warrants and arrest warrants in four different jurisdictions in Virginia and North Carolina, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Debbie George.

The warrants were the result of an investigation into the Jan. 7 East Washington Street assault of a victim by three suspected members of the Renegade Outlaw motorcycle gang.

Arrested on Wednesday were Daniel Ray Justice, 41; William Jeffery Wolfe, 43; and Jerry Lynn Gurganuas, 52. Each was charged with assault by mob, abduction, participation in a criminal street gang and other related charges, according to a press release from the city.

Police searches were conducted at Monk’s Salvage Yard on Portsmouth Boulevard, at 1172 Shillelagh Road in Chesapeake, in Hertford, N.C., and at two different addresses in Elizabeth City, N.C.

George said in her press release that police found evidence of gang participation, as well as firearms and narcotics, during their searches. Additional charges are pending in the jurisdictions where the drugs and firearms were discovered, she said.
