Lady Cavaliers travel to face Central Region champion

Lakeland’s Taylor Young scored the first goal of the match in Thursday’s Eastern Region Tournament semifinal, batting the ball from about waist-high after a save by Kecoughtan’s goalkeeper. Young’s goal came just before halftime and Lakeland went on to a 2-0 victory to clinch a state tournament spot. The Lady Cavaliers (19-2) travel to face Central Region champion Thomas Dale (16-1-1) in the Group AAA quarterfinals today at 3 p.m. at Maggie Walker Governor’s School in Richmond.
