Lakeland’s chance to advance to the final match of the VHSL Group AAA State Field Hockey Tournament will have to wait until Monday.

The Virginia High School League announced Thursday that all of Friday’s matches set for the U.S. Field Hockey National Training Center in Virginia Beach would be postponed until Saturday.

Later in the day, the VHSL announced, “due to scheduling issues at the National Training Center on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15, and the unfavorable weather forecast for Friday, Nov. 13, the VHSL Field Hockey Championships have been rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 16.”

Cox and South County will play in the first Group AAA semifinal at 5 p.m. Monday. Lakeland (20-2) will meet Northwest Region champion Mountain View (18-4) of Stafford in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. The championship match is set for Tuesday at 6 p.m.
